El Colibri Geisha

José Percy. When he was 11 years old, he was resting on the family farmland when a hummingbird landed on his head. This memorable encounter inspired the name of the farm.

The name El Colibrí carries a dual meaning: it reflects the hummingbirds that can be seen flying throughout the farm, while also symbolizing the vibrant colors and lively energy that the farm brings to its coffees.

In 2019, El Colibrí began cultivating the Geisha variety and now grows both Red Geisha and Yellow Geisha. One of José Percy’s goals as a producer has always been to have the quality of his coffee recognized and rewarded, enabling him to support his family through coffee production.

His dedication has yielded remarkable results. In the 2023 Cup of Excellence, José Percy achieved an impressive 12th place, and in this year’s competition, his coffee once again earned recognition as a National Winner.

The Low temperature anaerobic fermentation combined with natural drying dramatically enhances fruit sweetness and floral complexity.
